Fernando Palomo uses his vast soccer background to bring depth and insight to his work as the lead soccer play-by-play commentator covering European soccer in Spanish.
Fernando Palomo has worked at ESPN Deportes and ESPN International as host of renowned shows as SportsCenter and “Fuera de Juego, an international soccer debate show. Covering events such as World Cups, World Championships, Olympics and announcing some of the most important games in past European Nations Cups and the UEFA Champions Leagues.
Outside of his work as a sports broadcaster, Palomo was a member of the National Track and Field team of El Salvador and is the country’s record-holder in the javelin throw. He competed in the 1995 World Championships in Athletics (Gothenburg, Sweden), the 1998 Central American Games (Maracaibo, Venezuela), 1998 Ibero-American Games (Lisbon, Portugal). Member of Texas A&M’s track and field team. Competed in the 1996 NCAA Track and Field Championships.
